Hey, mama! I’m so glad you’re here at The Mama Squad Co. And I’m not just saying that – I really am so glad. And I want to take a minute to chat with you about why I started this blog/business. If my “why” resonates with you, I’d love for you to stick around!
I’m a stay at home mama to 3 kids (two boys and a girl who are 5, 3, & 1). Before I became a mom, I worked and had a group of friends. I LOVED going to work and being social. I loved having get-togethers with my friends after work and on the weekends. We always had so much fun! And then I became a mom. I was lucky enough to have some mom friends with kids Henry’s age (my first).
But then, people moved away and even I moved away for a year. I no longer had that group of friends to hang out with. I am lucky to have family near by and online friends but I don’t really have friends where I live. Which can be hard! Being a mom can be so weirdly isolating.
I also really miss working. For me, being a stay at home mom is a really weird dynamic. I feel super blessed to be able to stay home with my kids. And I really do love being able to stay home. BUT, I sometimes miss working and I miss having an outlet. And I miss having a way to make friends. It can be hard to make friends when my focus is on my kids. And I know that I’m not alone.
Not having any IRL friends and having my main focus being on my kids and housework (and my husband, duh) can be tricky on my mental health. I’m learning what self care really means to me and how I can help myself stay sane.
I started this blog to connect with other mamas out there who are in a similar boat as me. It’s my hope to bring together some amazing women to create the best mama squad around. I’m hoping to have mamas guest blog here to share their stories, share tips and tricks for self care, and to even teach us something fun or a new skill.
I picked the name The Mama Squad Co. (aka The Mama Squad Community) to reflect what I want this business to be – a community of moms coming together to build each other up and share their knowledge to better ourselves. And, hopefully, we’ll make some killer friendships along the way.
So, if you’re looking for some like-minded mamas and some fun mom-related posts to read, stick around! You’re in the right place.
And if you’re interested in writing a blog post for my mama features, please shoot me an e-mail at email@example.com. I would LOVE to have you write something for us!
